Women's Ministry

"There is nothing sweeter or more essential than friendships between women." Terran Eckler

The Women of Psalm 150 are meeting once a month over Saturday brunch to embark on a new study, "Women of the Bible." We invite you to join us as we seek God, as we pray for and encourage one another, and as we learn what it means to live as joy-filled daughters of The King.

On February 9th, we gathered together to talk about Deborah. You can read the story of this remarkable woman in Judges 4 & 5 in the Old Testament. Deborah is a unique character in the Bible. She is introduced to us as a Prophetess, a wife, and a judge, the only woman to be a judge in the history of Israel! Her story is one of great faith in God and the promises He made to her and His people. She believed in HIM, not in the circumstances that surrounded her, and in so doing, was able to accomplish great things for His kingdom. Yet she never once took the glory upon herself. Instead, after leading the Israelites through a victorious battle, she lead them through a victory song, praising God for delivering them. We, like Deborah, need not be fooled by our circumstances, but must trust in the promises of the God that we claim and obey Him, even when the odds seem insurmountable to us.

We meet together again on March 8th and will be talking about the renowned Esther. We encourage you to read the Book of Esther in the Old Testament so that you can become more familiar with her incredible story.

Women's Retreat 2007

Last November the ladies of Psalm 150 celebrated our first Women’s Retreat at The Four Seasons Resort in Carlsbad. An exuberant thank you to Eric and Yvette Castro for blessing us with the gift of the beautiful location. We gathered together for rest, relaxation, spiritual renewal and inspired worship led by our own Deb Felix and Angie Guevara. Our study of The Word came from Job 5:8-9, "...but as for me I will seek God and place my cause before God who does great and unsearchable things." We discussed what it means to not only ‘seek God’ but to truly hear Him; to listen for His voice, to recognize His voice, to KNOW His voice. We shared testimonies, personal experiences of His ‘great and unsearchable’ works, and we spent time conversing with God, both individually and as a group, laying our causes before Him and listening to what He would say to us. We came away with a deepened faith and a renewed awareness of Him and what He has done in each of our lives. God’s presence was so real - is so real - to us.

The girlfriends would like to invite you to join in with us for all the future fun we intend to have.
